Week 1
This week in media, we discussed what is expected of us for this year. I can already see that A2 Media is different to AS Media. This year in A2, work is more independent and we should not rely on the teacher to give us the answer but us to do research for ourselves and work more outside of the class. This week we started the research process of our task this year. Because our task is to make a teaser trailer, we went on YouTube to look at trailers of different genres like comedy, horror, sci-fi etc. This benefited us to see what kind of genre we would like to base our trailers on. So far, I have noticed that horror is the most common and easiest trailer that people use. I also saw this when looking at the recent A2 students who have just finished and the common trailer genre that they do is horror. Having seen this, I would rather go for another genre other than the style of horror. We also looked at the theory of 'auteurs'. We researched directors who are seen as 'auteurs'. An auteur is a director who can produce films in their own individual unique ways. They have their own style e.g. Steven Spielberg to the point where the audience can effectively recognise who the director of the film is. An auteur creates hierarchy. People would assume that an auteur is a better film maker than a 'normal' director. At home I went on to do more research on these directors and watched more trailers while taking down notes to add onto my research page.
Week 2
We spoke about creativity and discussed how our film could copy another film but develop and transform them into something different and more original. I learnt that everything is copied, everyone takes someone's idea but its when you develop the idea and make it unique which makes it your own. This was good as we would see trailers and use bits from the those trailers to use them in ours and could develop them to become more unique. We have not yet decided who our groups are, but we are working independently to find our own genres, I would prefer to keep doing a horror genre. We also watched a Cerbe ferguson documentary and saw his theory about how every idea is copied and transformed into making the idea different to others.
Week 3
We changed our whole initial idea and we chose something that will be better suited for all of us.
The Genre we decided on is Crime/Gangster and Action however it wasn't your typical 'Gangster' type film, there's a slight twist which is that it has traces of a love story within the story line between the 'goodie' and the 'baddie'. We started our research to find out what we could use in our films for our teaser trailers. We researched about directors and different films. We decided to look into the director Quentin Tarantino as we thought , and found out what movies he has done and what was so unique about them, but as you could see his movies were all very gory.

Week 4
Recently we have been looking at the ideas of what our movie can be like. we've seen what our genre is and what we would like to do to transform the ideas which we already have to produce a good teaser trailer. we chose our genre to be
psychological thriller with different idea to make our film similar to other movies. we used parts from primal fear in our teaser trailer as we see parts of them very beneficial as they show the man having abnormal behaviour issues, in which makes him act out and become more violent. this is what we would like to replicate in our film but transform it so we could make our own version of it.

Week 5
We started to plan and make diagrams of what our movie would be like, each member had their own input of ideas of what scenes they would like to see in the teaser trailer. We came up with the idea of having an operation, which goes wrong and creates a man to have abnormal behaviours due to the operation going wrong. The film will also have some romance which enables there to create chemistry between the two characters. So we could create sub-genres
Week 6
We came up with the pitch of the film having our ideas combined with creating a hybrid genre of psychological thriller/romance. This enabled our film to have more of an edge to it as there is a connection between two people which makes the teaser trailer hard for the viewers to realise its both a romance and thriller. We also decided where the location of our trailer would be. we've also decided the location of where our trailer will be filmed, we're using an hospital to film scenes of the trailer as the operation will take place there, this would make make the film more similar to World War Z as there is romance between two people.
Week 7
We started our story board and this would make it easier to start filming as the story board will give us an idea of what we are shooting. It helped us understand what props to use, what camera shots to include and how we might edit the shots. In most cases, when we do storyboards they can be changed a little bit as it might look different on paper then it does on camera. Especially camera shots, its hard to get it how you want it, so we need to see if it is possible to make the shots that we had put originally on the storyboard.
Week 8
We looked at trailers such as American gangster and we saw how we would like our main character in the trailer to be similar to Denzel Washington and the character is a high profile gangster but presents himself very well. We also watched gangster squad trailer and we also wanted to have a female character such as Emma stone was in the movie as we believe this helps attract a female audience as well.
Week 9
We would look at locations such as Leicester Square and other areas in London in which we could film our teaser trailer this was because we wanted areas in which we filmed to be very busy in certain part of the day as lighting is very important for our filming. We needed the right setting to do the scene as our film is action and needs certain parts which are when the sun starts to set.
Week 10
We came up with the storyline and where the teaser trailer will be filmed and this enables us to be more careful with the surrounding in the area as we have already seen what we would like to do. Also we've looked at what special effects would be good to use as the effects improve the teaser trailers. this was used in the past a2 trailers such as the silencer used many effects in different areas around the london.
Week 11
We started our filming today with many different angles of one short of us starting our first scene when our character is running down a alley way running from his enemies as they have tried to capture him. we have many different angles of the scene which we can use in our teaser trailer we used a shot where all you can see is me running which will have a fats pace music with it to create tension and curiosity within the audience.
Week 12
we started our next scene of filming, we would do a variety of shots and have a change in location to help improve our mise en scene. we went to the plot in lampton school and we needed different shots which allowed us. we used props as well such as guns and sunglasses. we also use hats and coats to help the costume design of our film.
Week 13
My group and I traveled to London to start our other scenes we needed to film the key parts of the film and we needed a better mise en scene to improve. We needed an area which was more busy, so we decided to go to Leicester square and film most of our film. Our genre was action so we needed the lighting to be dark so it would help us for our film and create more tension in the scene.
